They use a Atmel microcontroller, but otherwise it is a nice write-up
Playing with the BasicStamp microcontroller
For those of us - and that includes me - who have never ever played
around with microcontrollers I am collecting some information and
experiences on this site..
Please send me your contributions and I will include them.
Strain Gage Circuit
-
- single strain gage circuit (6-9-09, final version)
- PC board, layout of circuit, both halves (06-05-09, final version) (includes top and bottom view)
- Assembled Module (5-29-09)
Below are miscellaneous trial-and-error and test versions not identical
to the boards used during the USERS program, but heavily leaned upon.
- Single amplifier stage
Test version(4-11-09), Input= -0.961 to +1.167 mVolt , Output = 1.401 to 4.012 Volt, missing is the filter stage

Solder used : 60/40 Rosin-Core, .050" diameter, Radioshack
Cleaning of electronic boards : Isopropyl Alcohol, 70% or higher, seems
to be the best, but maybe rosin-solvent should be tried too.
Coating of electronic boards :Silicone conformal coating has the
advantage of being removable although it is not quite as good as Urethane
conformal coating, used Fine-L-Kote SR by Techspray
